The architectural consultation takes place at the start of your project: we’ll visit your home, walk you through the key elements of the design process, and explore the options you have for your space. It’s a helpful, reassuring and inspiring process that will get the creative juices flowing and allow you to see infinite possibilities for your home.

Our architectural consultations are designed to help you, so will be heavily guided by the vision you have for your home. We’re there to help you visualise the possibilities within your space and lay the foundations for a successful project.

Stage One: The Review

COVID-permitting, our architect, Christian Pinchin, will visit your property in-person to carry out an in-depth review of your home. We’ll work through your ideas and any planning regulations to begin assessing what’s possible for your space. While COVID-19 restrictions are in place, the consultation process will be conducted remotely.

Stage Two: Architectural Design

Now that we understand the current situation, we’ll work with you to begin developing initial concept design sketches that are feasible for your property. We’ll have an engaging and inspiring design workshop with you, to sketch out ideas that fit with your taste and style.

Stage Three: The Project

We’ll discuss everything you need to know about moving your project forward: project cost, potential budget, consultants, time frames, the planning process, choosing a builder, how to incorporate zero carbon and sustainable architectural practices into your project, as well as energy efficiency. 

Stage Four: Next Steps

To round things off, we’ll provide you with a fee proposal that’ll take your project through to completion. We’ll put together a detailed report, covering everything we’ve discussed, how your project can move forward, and the likely costs involved. The report will be issued to you and can inform your next steps.

Who are these architectural consultations suitable for?

Our architectural consultations are best-suited for people who are at the start of their property project and who are looking for a better understanding of the architectural process, design possibilities and the logistical feasibility of their ideas. We’ll visit properties throughout Hertfordshire, London and the Home Counties.

What happens during the session?

You can see all stages of the process here. Once we’ve wrapped up our consultation, we’ll put together a comprehensive (but easily digestible) PDF pack for you. It’ll include everything we’ve discussed during the consultation, as well as a fee proposal for your project. This will be sent to you via email so that you can read and digest in your own time. If you would like to move forward, we can begin the next stage of the design process once our fee has been agreed.

What do I have to do prior to your visit?

Not much at all! All we need from you is to complete a short form to let us know what your goals for your project are, and then we’ll be back in touch with you to arrange our visit. Estate agents' plans if you have them are also really useful. 

What scenarios have you consulted on before?

Our architectural consultations have covered almost every imaginable scenario! Whether the project is simple or much more complex, we’ll be able to advise using our professional architectural experience. Some scenarios we’ve worked on have included:

• I’d like to extend my property, but I’m not sure if I’ll succeed in having planning permission granted

• We’ve just moved into a new home and would like to do an entire house refurbishment

• We’ve recently bought a plot of land and would like to build a new home from scratch.
