50 new 1, 2, 3 & 4 bed residential dwellings
Area
2.41 hectares
Location
Essex
Working closely with Sanctuary Housing Association, Pinchin Architects have evolved a mixed tenure scheme driven by affordability of 50 units, with generous landscaping and public open space. The site on Boars Tye Road in Silver End is currently 2.41 hectares of farmland and following the grant of planning consent, works will now be progressing on site.
The application site is located outside, although immediately adjacent to the village envelope of Silver End and lies to the north of the existing settlement, less than one kilometre from the village centre. Whilst outside of the current settlement boundary, it adjoins the existing built-up area of the village.
The proposal provides a variety of dwelling types suitable for individuals, couples and families. Houses include 2-, 3- and 4-beds with rear gardens and defensible space to the street side. There are also 1-bed maisonette dwellings in order to provide a good range of affordable unit types. All properties have allocated visitor parking and designated storage areas for refuse, recycling and bikes. New road and footpath infrastructures are proposed to connect with Boars Tye Road as well as public open space, landscaping and existing hedgerows.
